SUMMARY:

Pregnancy is a unique and transformative moment in the life of a woman, her partner and the entire family. For this reason, the debate on the importance of prenatal care for partners has been initiated, in order to promote men's health, reduce gender inequalities and encourage active fatherhood during pregnancy, labor and birth. This study aims to develop and validate an implementation and adherence protocol for Partner Prenatal Care in Primary Health Care. The specific objectives are: to investigate the published scientific evidence on implementation and adherence strategies for Partner Prenatal Care in Primary Health Care; to identify the strategies recommended by PHC teams based on their professional experiences to implement Partner Prenatal Care in the municipality; to understand the challenges and suggestions of pregnant women's partners for participating in prenatal consultations; to build and validate the content of the implementation and adherence protocol for Partner Prenatal Care, according to the recommendations of PHC teams, pregnant women's partners and ministerial guidelines. The study will be methodological and the theoretical methodological framework will be the Practical Model for Technology Development (PMTD). The research will be carried out in eight Basic Health Units in the municipality of Saboeiro/CE, with health professionals from the Family Health Strategy teams and with partners of the pregnant women. For the validation stage of the protocol content, Expert Judges in the area of public health and/or those with a degree in Literature will be invited, who will contribute with technical, textual, grammatical, and spelling analyses and suggestions to ensure that the protocol content meets the recommendations of the Ministry of Health guidelines. Four data collection instruments will be used: a form to be completed with the main results found in the integrative review; a self-administered questionnaire for health professionals; a semi-structured interview script to be applied to the pregnant woman's partner; and a fourth instrument called the Content Validation Instrument (CVI), for the Expert Judges. The analysis of the responses from the interviews and the questionnaire will be organized using the content analysis technique. The data from the Expert Judges' responses will be calculated using the Content Validity Index (CVI), which must have a value greater than or equal to 0.78. The final protocol proposal will be presented to the city's Primary Health Care managers at a pre-scheduled meeting for their assessment and consideration. The research will follow the ethical and legal procedures described in Resolution No. 466/12 and No. 510/16 of the National Health Council (NHC) of the Ministry of Health.
