THE USE OF INTEGRATIVE COMMUNITY THERAPY AS A STRATEGY FOR PROMOTING WOMEN'S MENTAL HEALTH
Integrative Community Therapy; Mental Health; Women.
This research project, developed within the Professional Master's Program in Family Health at the Federal University of Cariri (PROFSAÚDE), aims to understand the contribution of Integrative Community Therapy (ICT) to promoting the mental health of women receiving Primary Health Care (PHC). ICT, a practice integrated into the National Policy for Integrative and Complementary Health Practices (PNPIC) since 2017, is a collective, low-cost, and participatory methodology that integrates popular and scientific knowledge through structured discussion groups, aiming to strengthen bonds, encourage self-care, and reframe experiences of suffering. The study will adopt a qualitative approach, with data collection through ICT groups, narrative interviews, and an evaluative discussion group. Data analysis will be conducted based on the thematic analysis proposed by Minayo, supported by ATLAS.ti software. As a technical-technological product, an educational booklet will be created for users of the health service, aiming to raise awareness and disseminate teachings so that women can incorporate complementary therapeutic practices to promote mental health, encouraging self-care and improving quality of life.
