SUMMARY:

The research project aims to investigate the didactic and pedagogical relevance of games for effective learning in philosophy teaching in basic education. Using games in philosophy classes, pedagogical mediations become more efficient for the philosophical problematization of diverse topics that can be addressed through philosophy teaching. In the first part of this project, we seek to map the state of the art that underpins the didactic and pedagogical importance of games for the integral development of the individual, as well as respect for rules, moral values, a critical understanding of reality, and the student's proactive capacity to argue and make demands. Authors such as Johan Huizinga, author of "Homo Ludens," and Roger Caillois, both historians of philosophy, describe games as an essential activity for the development of human beings in their multiple dimensions: cultural, social, and political. Huizinga emphasizes the playful dimension as fundamental in the formative process of young people, while Caillois delves deeper into the diversity of game forms and their cultural functions. Based on these theoretical foundations, this study also investigates the use of active methodologies, such as gamification, which integrates game elements into the educational context, enriching the teaching-learning process and promoting greater student engagement, ultimately leading to the acquisition of philosophy.
